The Local Haunt -Comic Art
This horror humor comic started out as a comic strip i would draw during church. It was inspired by a creepy house i enjoyed passing down the street from where i lived in college and watching one of those super cheesy 'ghost hunter-haunted house-idiots scaring themselves silly on camera' type shows and thinking how funny a situation that can be. The story of The Local Haunt is that of the hero 'Guytano Magno Lemon' who finds a free house advertised and takes it, not stopping to think about WHY the house is free in the first place. He finds out quickly that it comes so cheap-as-free because the house is haunted up the wazzoo by tons of creatures that are more annoying than scary. However, being stuck with the house and too poor to move anywhere else he makes due. The main antagonist is Hank, a gremlin who worked for the British RAF destroying German planes during World War II. He watched over the scientist who came to America after the war and the massive military laboratory that the house sits over. As such the facility and house are home to many of the experiments and people attached to the top secret project. Guytano is just the lucky sap who got the house after the Scientist went bit loopy and gave the house to. Starting as a humble comic strip i quickly launched into a full comic book format as bigger pages allowed for bigger science-haunt action.
